Pupil Premium Funding

Pupil premium grant expenditure

Pupil Premium Funding is money given to schools from the Government to support the progress of pupils vulnerable to under-achievement as identified by the Government, such as:-

Children entitled to Free School Meals (FSM), including children who have been eligible within the last 6 years.

Looked after Children including those who have Special Guardianship Orders (CLA )

Those who have been Adopted

Children of Armed Service Personnel

Nationally, these children have sometimes been subject to underacheivement and the governement wants schools to focus on ensuring that the gap is firstly ‘narrowed’ then, eventually, ‘closed’ between the progress and attainment of these children compared to their peers. Therefore the money is allocated to initiatives to ensure pupils reach their full potential, both academically and socially.

For the financial year 2017/18 – Newick CE Primary School has been allocated £13,200 Pupil Premium Grant funding

The Pupil Premium Strategy and the Rational for Spending for 2017-2018 is currently being updated and will be published here as soon as it has been approved.
